"T" is away at camp... So, mom had a sneaky idea to have us come and makeover her space. The space is freshly painted and was ready for us to work our magic. We kept the bed in the same space, but we switched the armoire and writing desk. Mom had presourced bedding, art, and a few accessories...
Friday, we styled the home of one of our favorite families. We had the pleasure of styling the kids spaces and mom and dad's bedroom earlier this year.... So, when they reached out to us about the reStyle of their family room... we were all over it. The room was bare and lacked warmth and personality. But, the space oozed with potential. Stained concrete floors, openness, and bright light. The family had purchased the matching gray sofas already and had commissioned Ben and I on the stump nesting tables. They had a small budget, which initially we saw has an enormous hurdle, a huge challenge. But, the bright side we did see! Small budgets force creativity and thinking outside the box. So, we knew we needed something big for the walls. Our client loved the idea of mirrors, so we went to Dee's Antiques in Salado off Main Street. We sourced various sizes and orientations. Our total budget for shopping was 350.00 We spent right under 140 for all the mirrors. We then adventured to the Belton Walmart. I know what you're thinking... there is no way... But, we ended up sourcing a mirror for $20, pillows, and 3 gold sculptures in various sizes. After our shopping outing, we pulled the yellow Ikea chair and our turquoise ombre lamps from when we styled the master bedroom and the look came together. The overall vibe is fun, whimsical, and inviting. It had to be kid and pet friendly. We came under budget and the entire family loved the space.
This past week was monumental. Not only did we introduce Indie to hopeful traditions and his extensive San Antonio family, but we styled the home of some of our favorites.
Ben's known Brett since he was fifteen. So, they share a tad of history. Certainly, they share some wild stories... and more, I'm sure. So, when Brett met Brianna... Allie was in hog heaven. Heaven? because Brett was best man in our wedding and because Allie loved Brett and knew how important it was for Brett to meet a great gal. Someone with substance, assertiveness, and guts. Cause who doesn't need that?? Seriously, Brianna is all those things and so much more. a little country, farm house chick, but with an amazing eye for key pieces. So, when Brianna reached out to us... we were allover helping them out.
This was a full circle moment. Harl is one of Ben's best friends. In fact, he was a groomsman in our wedding... and , exactly a year ago we assisted him with the selection and installation of drawer pulls for all his custom cabinetry. We spoke to him briefly about our reStyle services, but he wasn't quite ready. This Christmas he was. He had a budget set aside that allowed us to purchase a new rug, lighting, indoor plants, and accessories. He had interesting artifacts, but they were stranded through out his home and some were even found out in the yard... We had a plan to bring this space together while staying true to who Harl is: a genuine man's man with a love of travel, hunting, fishing, and his adorable pup, Penny. A few years ago, Harl experienced a fire and lost everything... He re.built and has slowly replaced lost items... all was lost, except a lures found in a melted tackle box. We unearthed those lures and created a really interesting art installation above the television.
Our sweet friends received a Memorial Day re.style....As avid art collectors, the clients inherited some FAB family heirloom pieces and we helped fold them into the mix with all their awesome art and vintage accessories.
