Happily ever after may seem like an unattainable fairy tale to some. But, for our clients, bride and groom, Amanda and Stephen their love story is a full blown fairy tale, complete with match making and the sweetest love letters. A one of a kind love. So, when this dreamy couple reached out to us about transforming their soon to be love nest... we, of course, jumped at the opportunity! They asked for a romantic haven, a retreat, and mostly they wanted a reflection of their love and devotion for one another. Because of their perfect love story, we felt the pressure to bring it... so we did!
Both, Amanda and Stephen have a deep appreciation and love for things with a story, with history. So, vintage and antique furniture and accessories play a huge part in filling this space with elements that reflect their style. The first piece purchased for the space was a $18 midcentury headboard found by the couple at an antique mall in downtown Georgetown. Ben worked his magic making repairs and painted it out in a slick, glossy white for a modern edge.
The existing wall color was a bluish gray and was a perfect backdrop. However, we had a plan to punch up the focal wall and really make it a feature wall by adding a big dose of pattern. The vertical stripes give the illusion of higher ceilings and gives a sweet nod to vintage wallpaper. The stripes were completed on day 1 of the styling. While Ben was tasked on painting the stripes, I headed downtown Salado to shop for a few vintage and antique accessories.
"You guys captured the perfect reflection of Amanda's soul." -Stephen
Usually closed on Monday's, Dee's Antique Mall on Main Street was clutch. When Mrs. Dee noticed me peeking through the window, she welcomed me in to look around. oh boy, was I glad she did! I scored antique side tables, the sweetest embroidered chair, two exquisite antique lamps, a crystal sconce, and few other accessories that truly made the space come alive and give more of a one of a kind vibe. There is nothing more that I love than using vintage. It makes my heart explode to search second hand stores and antique malls for treasures. To find something is a triumph. And, to incorporate vintage in an updated and beautiful way... well, there is nothing better. It's a challenge, but so worth it in the end.
The rug, dressers, upholstered bench and chair, and curtain panels were all purchased prior to the styling. I created a quick Pinterest board with options for rugs, chairs, and a few accessories. This allowed the couple to view items and make their own selections. They had them waiting for us upon arrival for the big styling day!
We were so honored to get the opportunity to style this space for Amanda + Stephen. Their reaction to the space made our hearts so very happy. We hope this space fills them with love, happiness, and joy for years to come! Congratulations to the beautiful couple!
